WILD Oklahoma:  The right programs at the right time.
Radio.  Internet.  Television.

To say that Oklahoma is one of the best kept outdoor secrets in the nation would be the understatement of the century.  Oklahoma's outdoor traditions are vast and deep, and to this point, there haven't been a lot of programming geared toward the unique nature of Oklahoma's, well, nature.  Whether it be hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, farming, or equine activities, Oklahoma deserves a big pat on the back for our preservation efforts.

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation does a spectacular job and even some of the Internet and television programming are very good.  But they cannot be critical in any way for obvious reasons - they are a state agency.  We, on the other hand, are not.

Competition
There are plenty of Oklahoma outdoor programs on television, but ours is the only on the radio and the Internet that desires to do one thing and one thing only:  To promote the great Oklahoma outdoors.  And yes, we're kicking off a television show this fall, and we're doing so because the outdoor television programming in Oklahoma often focuses on out-of-state outfitters.  We don't know about you, but we care more about the striper in Texoma than we do halibut in Alaska.  We care more about the whitetail in Oklahoma than elephants in Africa.

Even our website is managed/designed by people from Oklahoma - not Colorado!

Getting Involved
Outdoor enthusiasts must band together to support legitimate outdoor programming in the state of Oklahoma - and we're not talking about programming designed just to get the hosts invited to primo hunting outfitters.  We mean programming that speaks the truth, that is entertaining, is interactive, and provides you with information you can use...such as legislation coming down the pike to destroy your rights to the outdoors.  You can trust WILD Oklahoma to accomplish this feat but we can't do it if you don't get involved.

We are all about Oklahoma and we're all about you.  Ron, Kenny & Gary welcome you to WILD Oklahoma.  Enjoy the stay.

Ron Black, the 400lb Gorilla of Oklahoma Media

Ron is a well-known and very popular talk show host in Oklahoma who has been a very outspoken advocate for the Oklahoma outdoors for many years.  He has been called "the 400lb Gorilla of Oklahoma Media" because of his personality, drive, and willingness to debate virtually any issue with gusto (Dino Price, gave him this nickname in 2001).  Whether it be 2nd Amendment issues or getting kids outdoors and enjoying our parks and lakes, Ron has been a staunch advocate for Oklahoma outdoors.  He is a United States Navy Veteran, husband to Suzanne (an NRA certified rifle instructor), father of three, and all-around entertaining guy.  Ron is a member of the Oklahoma Rifle Association, the National Rifle Association, and is an officer with the esteemed Oklahoma City Gun ClubRon was the 2007 ORA Mike McCarville Media Award recipient.

Kenny "Bilbo" Bradshaw, Resident Boating/Fishing Pro

Kenny is WILD Oklahoma's resident boating and fishing professional, participating in tournaments throughout the great state of Oklahoma.  Kenny has forgotten more about boating and fishing than most of us will ever know, and he's a pretty darned good hunter too.  Kenny is married to Sheri, is the father of two boys - the oldest is serving our nation in the United States Air Force.  And by the way, the picture taken (left) was not a night hunt, but rather a dawn dove hunt in Laverne, Oklahoma.  Note the hat - very representative of his personality.  You can find Kenny throughout the week at his day job at H&H Marine, Oklahoma City's Buster Boat dealer.

Gary "Frodo" Leiter, Popular Hunting Guide and Public Land Expert

You probably remember seeing Gary as a guitarist for one of Oklahoma's most popular bands, SlowVein.  You've also seen him on Hunt, Sleep, Fish television and now, he is a part of the WILD Oklahoma Pro Staff.  Gary knows public land in Oklahoma unlike anyone because he has hunted public land unlike anyone.  He is a very popular hunting guide and is founder of the Northeast Oklahoma Whitetail Classic hosted by Whitehorse Creek Ranch in Alva, Oklahoma.  Gary is the consumate professional, driving the WILD Oklahoma Pro Staff to achieve perfection with every radio broadcast and soon, with every television broadcast.  Gary has hunted public lands all his life and as stated previously, there aren't many areas in Oklahoma where Gary hasn't bagged a critter.

Greg "Dances with Turkeys" Merick, Pro-Staff

Greg has hunted, fished, and camped all over the state of Oklahoma.  Greg has been in radio since 2000 as a producer for the Texas Rangers baseball, the Oklahoma Redhawks, the New Mexico State Aggies and many nationally syndicated and local talk shows.  He has also been an on air co-host for sports radio programs heard across Oklahoma and has been a play-by-play man for many high school and college sports teams.  He is husband to Aimee (yes, he married far above his station) and the father of one son, Zachary.

Clay "Ricky Bobby" Hoover, Pro-Staff

After graduating with a business economics degree from OSU, THE university of Oklahoma, Clay realized that he could not sit behind a desk.  So, after graduating with an equine science degree from El Reno, he was in the horse business for about a decade.  Bad knees and some other parts forced an early retirement from that industry, so he returned to his second love, guns and the great outdoors.  He has been in the firearms industry for almost six years now, all of it locally.  You can't control where you were born, only where you live.  He corrected his youthful mistake and moved back from Texas to his home state.  He enjoys the people and the diversity and beauty of this great state of Oklahoma!

Suzi Rouse, WILD Oklahoma Pro-Staffer

Suzi Rouse is one of four recipients of the National Rifle Association's prestigious 2005 Marion P. Hammer Woman of Distinction Award.
Rouse formed the Oklahoma City Gun Club's women's division in 1999. Prior to that time, the club did not have any programs to encourage women's increased participation in the shooting sports. She was also the first woman to have a seat on the club's board of trustees. She was the first woman to be elected as a club officer, and currently serves  president.
Her passion for introducing women to the shooting sports led Rouse to host one of the first Women On Target® instructional shooting clinics in the nation in 2000. Since that time, she has coordinated the Oklahoma City Gun Club's annual Women On Target® instructional shooting clinics (always one of the largest nationwide), and organized clinics at other clubs throughout Oklahoma. As a result, hundreds of women received an introduction to recreational shooting and basic marksmanship principles in a safe, fun and supportive atmosphere.
In addition to introducing women to recreational shooting through Women On Target®, Rouse works with hunters and shooters of all experience levels. She is an NRA Certified Firearm Instructor in four disciplines (pistol, range safety officer, rifle and shotgun); and a hunter safety education instructor. She is active in the Oklahoma Youth Hunter Education Challenge, and speaks to women's groups on topics related to the Second Amendment.
